40 Plus and Fit: It is About Mind, Body, and Soul

After opening the website and talking to friends, I am more convinced that the concept of mind, body and soul should be 40 Plus and Fits’ overall goal. Through the analytics from my website and YouTube Channel, it is obvious that people want to feed their mind and soul also.  And who can blame them?

These are trying time and the news is often confusing at best and horrible at worse. It is during these times that people need to focus on their entire self. A lot of “Baby Boomers” were raised believing that putting yourself first, even for a second, is a bad thing. But the truth is if you don’t take of yourself, you will not be able to take care of others.

Poor health, poor mental attitudes and poor self-care have destroyed more relationships than anyone can count.   Everyone needs to take care of themselves so they can take care of all their responsibilities. It is not a bad thing to care about your own wellbeing.

Taking care of you is a start. You have to make sure you are working out and caring for your physical wellbeing. It is about moving, stretching and lifting. Staying active during these times should be a top priority. It is easy to get lost in the thought, “I need to do this or that” before I workout.  But honestly, if you lose your health you will not be able to any of the other things you love. Workout so that you can be there for those you love and can do the things you love.

It is also important to take time to read, meditate and pray.  Strive every day to clear your mind and focus on the things that you need to make important. Perfect your mind and enjoy the peace of clear-mindedness. It is important that you also take care of your emotional well being.

Often our minds are racing in a million directions.  Sometimes your mind even creates crises that don’t exist. Our minds can be our own worst enemy. Each and every one of us has to be strong-minded and not let our emotions get out of control.

In one of my videos, I stressed that “We Live Inside Our Heads.” I believe that with all of my heart and we have to come to grip with that reality. No matter where you live, you live inside your head. You can move a thousand miles always and you still live inside your head. Make peace with that simple concept. Make peace with yourself. Learn to love yourself and participate in self-care.

Relax. Read your favorite book. Pray and meditate on things of importance. Make sure that you are caring for mind, body, and soul. You owe it to yourself to take care of yourself. It is what is best for you. It is what is best for your family.
